Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Maternity Care Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and make a meaningful contribution to the improvement of maternity care.

About the Role

  • The successful candidate will have experience at band 6 level or equivalent, with a proven ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate midwifery care for women and their babies.
  • They will be responsible for coordinating professional development of midwives and support workers, ensuring that all mandatory training is up-to-date, and delivering training on various topics, including MDT emergency training (PROMPT).
  • The ideal candidate will have sound clinical skills, the ability to utilise evidence-based practice, and proven interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating professional development of midwives and support workers
  • Ensuring that all mandatory training is up-to-date
  • Delivering training on various topics, including MDT emergency training (PROMPT)
  • Ensuring that learning from incidents, audits, and new guidance is shared and embedded
  • Facilitating staff to provide safe, effective care
