Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shift Manager to join our team at Wincanton. As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for supervising a small team and ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the department within a pre-set budget.

The Role
  • Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will have responsibility for supervising a team and providing guidance and motivation to achieve planned targets and deadlines.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring the operation achieves daily and weekly KPI targets and ensuring the department operates in line with all company and customer procedures and requirements relating to Health and Safety.
  • You will be responsible for H&S on site, reporting, investigating and actioning safety concerns and accidents/incidents to drive safety culture on site.
  • You will ensure any disciplinary action is carried out following company procedure and aim to resolve grievances on a day-to-day basis by leading by example.
  • You will ensure the operation operates all such systems to the mutual benefit of the customer and the company, raising and escalating issues where necessary.
  • You will ensure effective communication throughout the operation, communicating planned requirements, providing information on performance, company news and procedures.
  • You will work closely with Transport and Stock department to maintain OTD.
  • You will participate in sites social life and drive CI culture.

The Person
  • You will have in-depth experience in warehouse planning & management.
  • You will have previous experience of all formal disciplinary processes including the grievance process.
  • You will have advanced experience with warehouse KPI management.
  • You will have excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office programs.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • You will work well under tight deadlines with a keen eye for detail and a right first-time approach.
  • You will have experience of Kronos time management and Oracle an advantage.
