We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate SEND Specialist Tutor to join our team at Prospero Teaching. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering 1:1 tailored lessons to young people with SEND, helping them to bridge gaps in their education and boost attainment levels.

The Opportunity

As a SEND Specialist Tutor, you will be working with children and young people who have struggled to engage with their learning, often due to anxiety or a lack of support in the classroom. Your role will be to provide a safe and structured learning environment, helping your pupils to regain confidence and re-engage with their education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1:1 tailored lessons to young people with SEND
  • Assess and plan learning to meet the individual needs of each pupil
  • Collaborate with parents and carers to provide regular updates and progress reports
  • Work closely with the Prospero Teaching team to ensure seamless support and progression for each pupil

Requirements

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • UK classroom teaching experience
  • PECS/Makaton training preferred but not essential
  • Experience working with challenging behaviour and disengaged pupils

  • A competitive hourly rate of £25 per hour (negotiable)
  • A minimum of 10 hours per week, with flexible working hours to suit the needs of each family
  • Ongoing support and training to ensure you have the skills and confidence to deliver high-quality teaching and learning
