Job Description

Nicholas Associates is seeking a skilled Heat Treatment Maintenance Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of manufacturing equipment, including furnaces, vacuum pumps, and refrigeration plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on a variety of manufacturing equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  2. Plan and prioritize workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time.
  3. Implement preventative maintenance on all plant equipment, including the building.
  4. Respond to breakdowns at pace, identify fault, and problem-solve with minimal downtime to production.
  5. Carry out breakdown root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  6. Report equipment faults and concerns to management, including root cause analysis.
  7. Responsible for all electrical work, including lighting, installation, and fault finding.
  8. Ensure all electrical and P&ID drawings are up to date.
  9. Comply with all H&S procedures, legislation, and company policies.
  10. Ensure all work is undertaken to a high-quality standard.
  11. Work alongside contractors as and when required.
  12. Contribute to continuous improvement throughout the Maintenance System.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  2. Transferrable skills to work in a multidisciplinary manufacturing environment.
  3. Understanding of PLCs, variable drives, control, and instrumentation.
  4. The ability to work as part of a team and on your own with minimal supervision.
  5. A current driver's license and access to a car.
  6. MS Office skills.
