Job Opportunity in Plastic Surgery

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plastic Surgeon to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Plastic Surgeon, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our Plastic Surgery department.

About the Role

This is a full-time (10 PA) post, and the successful candidate will work as a member of a team of Consultant Plastic Surgeons, based at the University Hospital Birmingham NHS Trust. The post holder will work closely with the Breast Surgery team and will be part of the Breast Reconstruction team.

The unit provides a high-volume DIEP flap service, and the work will cover all aspects of OncoPlastic and Breast Reconstruction surgery. The post holder will be expected to participate in MDTs and departmental consultant meetings and partake in audits, quality improvement projects, and clinical governance, as well as continuing professional development.

  • Providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our Plastic Surgery department
  • Working closely with the Breast Surgery team and being part of the Breast Reconstruction team
  • Participating in MDTs and departmental consultant meetings
  • Partaking in audits, quality improvement projects, and clinical governance
  • Continuing professional development
Person Specification
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC), with licence to practice
  • FRCS(Plast) or equivalent
  • On the GMC Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery or CCT in plastic surgery within 6 months at time of interview
