Job Title: Data Solutions Architect

As a key member of the Seriös Group team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the organization's approach to data solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing and developing cloud data platforms, IoT analytics, data integration, and migration projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and technical expertise in the design and development of data solutions
  • Set the technical standard across the organization, evaluating new and emerging technologies and shaping the organization's approach to data
  • Lead a team of Data Architects, Engineers, and Analysts, defining data architecture frameworks, principles, and standards
  • Manage senior technical people from both a line management and coaching/mentoring perspective
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and methodologies, inspiring others to continually improve
  • Shape the organization's approach to cloud technologies, such as AWS or Azure
  • Set the standard for detailed solutions documentation and data governance
  • Lead on the promotion of Agile delivery methods
  • Manage mid-level to senior team members from both a line management and coaching/mentoring perspective
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest technologies, methodologies, and best practices in cloud and data
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, coaching junior team members in soft skills
  • Perform detailed analysis on clients' technology implementations and provide recommendations
  • Act as a point of technical leadership, providing guidance to Data Architects and Data Engineers, promoting best practice and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation
  • Ensure all technical deliveries meet the company's required standard for data quality, design, reliability, and accuracy
  • Provide technical expertise as part of the pre-sales process, assessing prospect client needs and presenting scoped and sized data solutions
  • Work with the Learning and Development function in the development of training plans for junior staff
  • Help achieve/maintain partner status with 3rd party organizations, such as Microsoft and AWS
Requirements:
  • 5+ years prior experience in data engineering or business intelligence roles
  • Extensive ETL and data pipeline design experience, technology agnostic
  • Experience implementing solutions using at least one of the following technologies: Azure Data Factory, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Function Apps, Azure Synapse Analytics, AWS Glue, AWSS3, AWS Lambda Functions, AWS Redshift, Databricks, Snowflake, Google Big Query, Alteryx, SSIS, Informatica
  • Understanding of data warehouse and data lake principles
  • Demonstrable data modeling capabilities using either Kimball, Inmon, or Data Vault methodologies
  • Experience working with relational database platforms
  • Expert SQL skills
  • Exposure to data engineering coding languages, such as Python, R, or Spark
  • Awareness of AI/ML methodologies
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as PowerBI or Tableau
  • Experience leading or mentoring a team of junior data engineers or BI developers
  • Experience being technical lead on project delivery using Agile and/or DevOps methodologies
  • Experience using backlog management tools, such as Jira or Azure DevOps
  • Experience working in an agile consulting team
  • Experience writing Infrastructure as Code using either ARM Templates, PowerShell, CloudFormation, or Terraform
  • Experience of implementation of source control using Git
