Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Optometrist to join our Ophthalmology department at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing core and extended role optometry services, contributing to the clinical management of patients in collaboration with the ophthalmology team. This includes undertaking refractive assessment and ocular examination for paediatric and adult patients, working in an extended role capacity in Glaucoma and AMD clinics, and working closely with colleagues in optometry, orthoptics, and ophthalmology.

Key Responsibilities
  1. To undertake refractive assessment and ocular examination for paediatric and adult patients.
  2. To work in an extended role capacity in the Glaucoma and AMD clinics.
  3. To work closely with colleagues in optometry, orthoptics, and ophthalmology.
Requirements
  • BSc or equivalent in Optometry.
  • Completion of pre-registration year.
  • Evidence of appropriate ongoing professional development.
  • Evidence of ability to work alone and prioritise workload.
  • Post qualification experience in hospital optometry.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is £46,148 to £52,809 per annum pro rata.
