About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Faculty Technician to join our dynamic team at Northumbria University. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operation of our 3D printing facilities and workshop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Senior Technician for Manufacturing in the operation and maintenance of various additive and subtractive prototyping machines.
  • Support the development of projects in support of teaching and research, working closely with stakeholders from various disciplines.
  • Ensure a positive, safe working environment for all stakeholders, adhering to strict health and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to provide excellent support to students and staff, promoting a culture of innovation and excellence.
Requirements
  • Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of manufacturing engineering.
  • Working knowledge of CAD equipment and processes.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Enthusiasm and resourcefulness, with a willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing circumstances.
