About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our Facilities Team as a Casual Community Facilities Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the delivery of excellent facilities services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the correct disposal of waste in compliance with North Somerset Council guidelines and ISO14001 environmental standards.
  • Undertake regular building checks and planned maintenance, including daily plant room inspections, weekly fire alarm testing, and monthly fire extinguisher audits.
  • Provide first-line maintenance, including lamp replacements, unblocking toilets, putting up noticeboards, and assembling furniture.
  • Report building faults via our Facilities Helpdesk and follow up on tasks to ensure timely completion.
  • Carry out site safety checks and undertake porterage duties.
  • Ensure all external contractors are appropriately vetted and approved, and induct them on site.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 GCSEs or equivalent.
  • Previous customer service experience and strong communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace and experience of safe manual handling.
  • A valid UK driving license and own transport, or alternative suitable method of travel.
About You

We are looking for a proactive and flexible individual with excellent people skills and the ability to work in a team or independently as needed. You will be able to interface with a range of personnel, including children, adults, and professionals.

Please note that this position is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
