Job Description

The Clinical Negligence Management Lead will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Trust's Claims / Inquests function. This includes investigating and coordinating clinical and non-clinical claims, as well as managing priorities effectively and supporting continuous improvement in the quality of services.

Main Duties:
  1. Day-to-day management of the Trust's Claims / Inquests function to ensure claims are effectively managed in accordance with the Trust's Claims Policy and legal obligations.
  2. Work closely with the Trust's solicitors and NHSR claims handlers to challenge decisions where appropriate and protect the Trust from unwarranted criticism.
  3. Develop and implement an annual programme of work and development plan for the Claims / Inquests team.
Key Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience of managing legal services, including claims and inquests.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and internet.
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and report writing skills.
  • Successful objective setting, staff management, and performance management.
Estimated Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum
