Learning Disability and Mental Health Nurse Leader

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Ward Manager to join our team at Hafod Y Wennol Assessment and Treatment Unit. As a key member of our senior clinical and nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and developing the core nursing establishment in the delivery of compassionate, high-quality, effective, patient-centered nursing care.
Key Responsibilities- Exercise 24-hour accountability for the management of the ward, including leading and developing the core nursing establishment.
- Work and communicate effectively as a member of the senior clinical and nursing leadership team for the Division/service, collaborating with other Ward Managers.
- Develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships with clinical specialists from across nursing and the wider multi-disciplinary team, working in partnership to meet patient needs and achieve nationally agreed standards.
- Support staff in upholding the standards in the NMC Code (2018) as part of providing the quality and safety of care expected by service users and regulators.
- Take responsibility for effective rostering of staff to ensure the ward has effective skill mix and staffing levels to meet demand, and that staff health and well-being is a key consideration underpinning the rosters produced.
- Registered Nurse Learning Disability or Mental Health Qualification.
- Degree qualification in a relevant field of practice.
- Management qualification or equivalent.
- Relevant experience working with people with Learning Disability and Mental Health issues.
- Evidence of coordinating and managing a team of staff.
