About the Role

Ecclesiastical Insurance Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Actuarial Investment Analyst to join their Gloucester office. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in providing professional capital modelling and actuarial advice to support the investment and wider business decision-making process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and calibration of the Group's capital model for investment and market risk, working closely with the Head of Investments.
  • Deliver investment analysis, including capital modelling, to support the setting of the Group's investment strategy.
  • Monitor changes in the ESG model from the external provider and analyse their impact on Group Capital.
  • Provide timely and accurate updates on market risk and Economic Scenario Generator (ESG) to the Group Capital Team.
  • Present and justify changes in model design and calibration to a panel of actuarial managers for independent challenge.
  • Prepare reports for the Group's internal model governance oversight committee summarising changes to Market risk and/or ESG model design or calibration.
  • Design solutions to close model weaknesses and limitations identified in respect of market risk modelling.
  • Maintain market risk & ESG documentation for the Group's internal capital model.
  • Lead the development of investment data solutions to support model inputs in respect of the Group's investment portfolio.
  • Contribute to discussions within the team or department where appropriate.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Degree in a relevant math-based subject, with 6+ exams achieved in actuarial studies.
  • Relevant experience within an actuarial role, with a strong technical skill set and commercial judgement.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and present complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proven willingness and ability to get out into and proactively engage with and challenge the business.
