About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our client's luxury hotel and spa in Cornwall. As a key member of the kitchen team, you will be responsible for leading the team in the absence of senior chefs and contributing to the delivery of exceptional culinary experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation
  • Supervise and train junior kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food quality and safety
  • Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and stock control
  • Collaborate with the hotel's events team to deliver bespoke culinary experiences for guests
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a focus on using fresh, seasonal ingredients
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
