Babcock is seeking a skilled Vehicle Workshop Manager to join our team at our Ruislip site. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting our operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services.

The Role

As a Vehicle Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of skilled technicians and engineers in the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing the workshop structure and resourcing to ensure it is robust and agile to meet contractual demands
  • Implementing a consistent commercial focus, including customer service, risk management, and effective use of technology
  • Focusing on people development, recruitment, training, and retention within the workshop
  • Ensuring quality in the workshop, with high first-time fix rates and quality of work submissions
  • Managing financials, including understanding the cost base and creating plans to improve productivity, utilization, and efficiency

 

Essential Experience

We are looking for a candidate with significant operational experience in the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles, as well as experience managing multi-disciplined teams. You will also need to have working effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and extensive knowledge and application of health and safety principles.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold a relevant technical qualification, such as HGV IMI Level 3, and be educated to GCSE level or equivalent. A UK driving license is also required.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
