About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Quality Manager to join our team at Mountain Healthcare. As a Forensic Quality Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing an effective quality management system within our Sexual Assault Referral Centres, ensuring the successful implementation of a Quality Management System that adheres to the requirements of ISO 15189 and the Forensic Science Regulators requirements.

You will work closely with our Head of Governance and Quality to ensure the quality management system meets all relevant standards. Your expertise will be a senior figure, advising on key decisions, dealing with issues, and liaising with external contacts. You will also lead an audit program to test the quality management system, analyzing performance data to spot areas for improvement.

This is a full-time vacancy of 40 hours per week, and you will be responsible for developing relationships and working closely with United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), Forensic Science Regulator (FSR), Forensic Service Providers, and stakeholders such as the Forensic Capability Network (FCN) to ensure smooth and effective external assessments of the forensic disciplines.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing a quality management system that meets accreditation quality standards, specifically the FSR Codes of Practice and ISO15189.
  • Leading and managing audit schedules, including internal horizontal, vertical, and method witness audits, and external surveillance audits for accreditation.
  • Providing specialist advice and guidance on all matters appertaining to accreditation, ensuring the service provided by the organization is fit for purpose, consistent, and meets both external and internal requirements.
  • Representing Mountain Healthcare on both a regional and national stage, influencing the landscape of quality management, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, including GDPR, Health and Social Care Act, and the FSR statutory requirements.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree or equivalent level of qualification in a relevant subject and/or proven relevant work experience, alongside a qualification in project management/quality management.
  • A valid UK driving license.
  • Experience of providing high-quality documents, document quality assurance, and formatting.
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Previous supervisor/managerial experience, with excellent communication skills, verbally and in written format, through reports to senior management.
  • Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze performance data and identify areas for improvement.
