About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Study Skills Lecturer to join our team at GBS Global Applied Knowledge. As a Study Skills Lecturer, you will play a critical role in supporting our students in developing effective learning strategies and academic literacies.

Main Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Learning
    • Design and deliver workshops and one-on-one sessions on academic skills, including writing, research, time management, and exam preparation.
    • Collaborate with subject lecturers to develop and teach study skills within the curriculum across a range of HE programmes.
  • Student Support
    • Provide individual and group study skills support in response to identified learning needs.
    • Offer constructive feedback on individual and class progress in their understanding of academic writing and other relevant study skills.
  • Course Development
    • Design and document bespoke courses, digital resources, workshop plans, and individual schemes of work to develop study skills in the curricula.
    • Ensure current, relevant, and effective skills are consistently delivered across GBS.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Contribute to GBS quality assurance systems and processes.
    • Work with academic teams to support the achievement of academic and project objectives.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Master's degree and/or a PhD in the relevant area.
  • Experience
    • Successful track record of teaching adult learners from diverse backgrounds on HE programmes.
    • Proven experience of providing individual and group study skills support in response to identified learning needs.
  • Skills
    • High level of digital literacy and advanced communication skills.
Desirable
  • Expertise
    • Expertise in digital educational resources development.
    • Course design and curriculum development experience.
