Job Title: Lecturer in Tourism

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lecturer in Tourism to join our academic team at GBS Global Applied Knowledge. The successful candidate will have a strong background in tourism and business studies and a passion for teaching.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver lectures and facilitate discussions on tourism and business-related topics.
  • Develop and update course materials to ensure high-quality learning outcomes.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and materials, including live online learning.
  • Attend meetings and contribute to decision-making processes.
  • Participate in staff development activities and peer observations.
  • Provide student support and guidance to ensure student success.
  • Meet performance management objectives for student outcomes, satisfaction, retention, and attendance.
  • Undertake administrative duties as agreed with the line manager.
Requirements:
  • Master's level in a relevant subject area and a PhD or equivalent professional experience.
  • Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Previous lecturing experience in similar courses.
  • Experience supervising student work and providing feedback.
  • Experience teaching in the wider subject area.
  • Experience with distance learning and supporting learners online and face-to-face.
  • Professional conduct and extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter.
  • Firm commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Attention to detail and accurate reporting.
  • Ability to maintain thorough and organized student records.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Highly motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills.
