Job Title: Senior / Principal Civil & Structural Design Engineer

Location: North West, commutable from Manchester, Stockport, Warrington, Northwich, Wigan and Macclesfield.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior / Principal Civil and Structural Design Engineer to join our team in Manchester. As a key member of our Rail team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of an existing framework contract and establishing new business streams and project opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and delivery of civil and structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with Network Rail design standards and project delivery.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, providing hands-on support with project management and client-facing activities.
  • Develop and adapt project technical instructions to ensure efficient and safe project delivery.
  • Ensure effective risk assessment and mitigation, and undertake design reviews to ensure compliance with defined scope and applicable standards.
  • Support the Project team with tendering activities, ensuring robust and cost-effective implementation strategies and methodologies.
Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of experience as a Design Engineer in the Rail / Civils infrastructure sector.
  • Experience of Network Rail design standards and project delivery.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to mentor and support a team.
  • A Degree in Civil Engineering or compensating experience.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary of £50,000 - £65,000 dependant on experience.
  • 28 days annual holidays plus Bank holidays.
