Class 1 Day Driver Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class 1 Day Driver to join our team at Gregory Distribution. As a Class 1 Day Driver, you will be responsible for delivering and collecting goods to and from businesses, including in London.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Loading and unloading vehicles, including refrigerated and curtain-sided trailers.
  • Delivering and collecting goods to and from businesses, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Providing excellent customer service, both face-to-face and over the phone.
  • Communicating with the transport team to ensure smooth operations and manage customer expectations.
  • Attending regular training sessions to maintain and improve skills.
Requirements:
  • Hold a valid UK HGV Class 1 CE Licence.
  • Have a current DCPC Card and UK Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
  • Experience with fridge trailers is preferred, but full training will be provided.
  • Be passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Work well under pressure, meeting deadlines and working efficiently.
  • Be a confident, polite, and team-oriented individual.
  • Have good geographical knowledge and be able to navigate effectively.
