Site Engineer Job Description

Fawkes and Reece is seeking a skilled Site Engineer to provide technical support on new build housing developments in the North West region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Technical and Commercial Departments in issuing tender drawings to contractors and assessing their return.
  • Review engineering designs for cost effectiveness and build ability.
  • Coordinate as-built surveys and agree issues with external bodies.
  • Instruct consultants to vary or amend designs within budget and programme.
  • Accept quotations for service connections within budget.
  • Work within budgets set by others and report potential overspend.
  • Inspect road and sewer works from commencement to formal adoption by Local Authority.
  • Obtain plot to postal addresses and service connection quotations.
  • Prior to legal completion, ensure driveways and footpaths are completed to agreed standards.
  • Answer site queries on engineering issues.
Requirements:
  • Good engineering knowledge from previous experience in the House Building Sector.
  • Experience providing technical support/supervision on roads, sewers, earthworks, foundations, and services.
  • Understanding of Section 38 and Section 104 agreements.
  • HNC or above in Civil Engineering (desirable).
  • Track record in delivering building control approvals.
  • Experience managing external consultants.
  • Demonstrate background in preparing schedules of work.
  • Keen eye for detail and ability to process technical information.
  • Comfortable using engineering related software like AutoCAD, PDS, and Microdrainage.

Pay - day rate to be agreed, dependant on experience.
