Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer - Structural Engineering (Specialist Structures) to join our team in Barrow in Furness. As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the structural engineering team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality designs and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake technical reviews, verifies and signs engineering designs
  • Articulate, define and document subject expertise, approaches and standards in order to extend business knowledge base
  • Provide technical direction to engineers
  • Supporting the development of individuals and teams to enhance skills and competencies, such that technical capability objectives are fully achieved
  • Define the qualification obligations for the assurance hold points during build, test and commissioning, and providing assurance to the Design Authority as to the adequacy and robustness of the Safety Case and supporting documentation

Requirements:

  • Engineering Degree BEng/MEng or equivalent or equivalent experience Civil/Mechanical/Structural Based
  • Member of Professional Institution - IMechE, ICE, IStructE. Chartered Engineer CEng Status or Incorporated Engineer IEng Status nearing CEng Status
