Job Title: Residential Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at Barnardo's. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with complex needs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment, promoting the independence and well-being of our service users. You will work collaboratively with our team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring that each child's unique needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children and young people, promoting their emotional well-being and resilience.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, their families, and other professionals.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the residential home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Document information accurately and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to, promoting the safety and protection of vulnerable children and young people.
Requirements:
  • Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or be willing to achieve this within the required timeframe.
  • Be motivated by the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of children and young people.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding and protection of vulnerable children and young people.
  • Be flexible to commit to sleep-ins and shift work, including weekends and bank holidays.
