Job Summary:

This role involves working as a Security Officer in the 3rd shift and on weekends. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the Security Manager in delivering a robust and cost-effective Security Service across all sites of the Trust.

You will be protecting staff, patients, and visitors from acts of violence and abuse, ensuring evidence is gathered and preserved where possible. This will involve engaging with patients and members of the public displaying challenging behavior.

Key responsibilities include undertaking high-profile patrols of the Trust Estate to deter and detect criminal activity, undertaking initial investigations of thefts and security incidents, and providing crime prevention and remedial security advice to victims of crime and ward/department managers.

Additionally, you will be expected to establish and maintain positive working relationships with the police and criminal justice services, prevent and deter criminal acts, and respond to acts of violence and abuse.

You will be a key member of the Security team, working closely with the Security Supervisors to gather information regarding incidents and progress them appropriately. You will also be responsible for ensuring security incidents are investigated and reported in accordance with Trust policy and Security Department procedures.

As a Security Officer, you will be required to maintain confidentiality and data protection when dealing with security information, evidence, and CCTV/BWC images. You will also be expected to maintain detailed, accurate, and timely records of incidents and activities using computer-based systems.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and establish positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of incidents and activities.
