Public Service Assistant

Cambridge City Council is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to support our Shopmobility Scheme in Cambridge. As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in providing mobility aid loan services to the public, working closely with colleagues to ensure excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with equipment bookings and customer data entry
- Collaborate with colleagues to assess new customers' needs and provide suitable mobility aids
- Develop skills in customer service, data entry, and problem-solving
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Basic IT skills, including data entry and software proficiency
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends
Working Hours
The successful candidate will be required to work approximately 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday (9:30 am - 6:30 pm) and Saturday (9:30 am - 7:00 pm), with flexibility to work additional hours as needed. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain valuable experience and make a positive impact in their community while developing skills and confidence.
Compensation
The estimated hourly wage for this role is £12-£14 per hour, based on industry standards and the location. This translates to an estimated annual salary of £24,960-£28,800.
