Job Title: Community Child and Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Child and Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at NELFT NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health services to children and adolescents in our community.

About the Role:

As a Community Child and Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating children and adolescents with a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and trauma.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and diagnose children and adolescents with mental health conditions
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions, as well as medication management and other interventions as needed
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and nurses, to provide comprehensive care to patients and their families
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of care plans and treatment strategies
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A strong background in child and adolescent psychiatry, with a focus on community-based care
  • Excellent assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to work with a range of mental health conditions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Experience with treatment planning and implementation, including medication management and other interventions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a focus on providing high-quality care to patients and their families
