Hygiene Technician

Job Purpose:
As a Hygiene Technician at Veetee, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all areas of the factory. This includes ensuring that all machines and external areas are cleaned and maintained in accordance with the Company's operating standards.
Responsibilities:
- To work as part of a team to ensure that the highest standards of visual and microbiological hygiene are always maintained.
- To identify and communicate any difficulties or issues that arise to your hygiene team leader.
- To check that chemical containers are labelled, locked, and lids are attached at all times.
- To follow all hygiene, food safety, quality, and H&S procedures, as well as the company's terms and conditions.
- To achieve a 'right first time' clean, following set work instructions and safety protocols.
- To work efficiently and complete additional tasks during quieter periods.
- To complete related documents and records in a timely and accurate manner.
- To manually handle goods up to 25kg.
- To operate cleaning equipment during deep cleaning tasks and wash down machines during scheduled shut down periods.
- To clean and tidy external areas of the factory and office buildings.
- To handle chemicals in accordance with COSHH training and regulations.
- To comply with the hygiene schedule and existing cleaning instruction cards and SOPs.
- To undertake all aspects of hygiene within non-operational areas, including toilets, canteen, warehouse, and yard.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role in a food manufacturing environment.
- The ability to work quickly, methodically, and under pressure.
- Comfortable working in a hot environment, confined space, on heights, and with pest control.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable and willing to work flexibly.
- Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
