Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pigments Category Manager to join our team at Axalta. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive cost savings and improve efficiency in the procurement of pigments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage direct material spend of $100+ MM.
  • Achieve Y-o-Y cost savings and Variable Margin Improvement.
  • Evaluate current purchasing approaches and propose improvements.
  • Utilize e-technologies, such as RFPs, internet auctions, and online vendor management.
  • Lead external pigment procurement to ensure quality, on-time delivery, and competitive costs.
  • Perform market analysis, benchmark analysis, and develop "should cost" models.
  • Manage supplier relationships and contract negotiations.
  • Understand color indexes and their relation to coatings.
  • Execute agreements as Buyer of Record.
  • Lead cross-functional qualification projects for alternate or second-source suppliers.
  • Monitor and resolve major disconnects within the order-to-pay process.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree a plus.
  • 8-10 years of total Procurement experience, including 5 years of strategic category management experience.
  • 2-3 years' experience working in global teams.
  • Relative experience in pigments, understanding of the global supply base, and procurement experience in pigments a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • System experience, Sales Force, Ariba (desired, not required), and SAP required.
  • Bilingual English with Spanish or Portuguese a plus.
