Teaching Assistant Position in a Primary School

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Teaching Assistant to join our team in a primary school in Newcastle, where you will work closely with teachers to support pupils' learning on a 1:1 basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and delivering engaging learning activities to promote pupil progress, working closely with Class Teachers.
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive and proactive manner, building strong relationships with colleagues.
  • Supervising pupils during break times and lunch times, creating a safe and supportive environment that encourages social-emotional growth.
  • Fostering positive relationships with pupils, enhancing their educational experience and promoting their overall well-being.

Requirements:

  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service) or willingness to undergo processing for a new one, ensuring the safeguarding of students.
  • A recognised Childcare-based qualification, showcasing your expertise in supporting young people's development.
  • Proven experience of supporting pupils in a school setting, preferably in a 1:1 capacity, with a strong track record of success.
  • High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with pupils, creating a motivating learning atmosphere.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential and flourish in education, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Estimated Salary:

This role attracts an estimated salary of £30,000-£40,000 per annum, depending on experience. The school offers a competitive package, recognising and rewarding outstanding performance.
