Director of Museum Operations, Trading and People

Black Country Living Museum is seeking a visionary leader to drive the success of its 31-acre visitor attraction and organisational culture. As Director of Museum Operations, Trading and People, you will bring strategic direction and leadership to the Museum's short, medium and long-term business planning, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction.

About the Role
  • Contribute to the Museum's business planning, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and industry standards.
  • Lead financial outcomes for Museum Operations, Trading & People, developing budgets and ensuring prudent resource use.
  • Oversee performance of people, engagement and organisational culture.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulatory matters.
  • Develop and implement disaster planning and business continuity strategies.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and delivering successful strategies, with commercial wisdom and strong business discipline. They will bring experience in leading transformational change, driving innovation and excellence, and managing risk across Museum teams. A keen eye for strategy and ability to devise and implement short, medium and long-term business planning will be essential.
