Employment Type: Full-time, weekdays and weekends (5 days)

Job Summary:

The Student Support Officer is a critical role in our institution, responsible for providing high-quality support to our students throughout their academic journey. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive support and guidance to a diverse community of students, and will play a key role in helping students thrive academically, emotionally, and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized support to students in areas such as academic progress, personal issues, and career guidance
  • Act as the primary point of contact for students, providing information and support in a timely and effective manner
  • Manage student attendance and absences, and collaborate with academic and administrative staff to identify and address student concerns
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student information, and provide regular and accurate reports to the university and partner universities
  • Organize and facilitate events and workshops aimed at promoting student engagement and enhancing the student experience
  • Monitor and track student attendance, academic progress, and behavior, and intervene where necessary
  • Enroll and withdraw students through the administration system, and contribute to the development and implementation of support services and policies
  • Ensure continuous delivery of quality service, acting as a representative of the university

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in a similar role within a higher education institution
  • Excellent customer service skills, and communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage competing demands
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by students in higher education and an ability to provide appropriate support
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Working in a fast-paced office environment
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge in Microsoft Suites
  • A commitment to upholding the university's values and policies
