Harrogate, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom The Avalon Group Full time

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our support team for a young female customer with Global Development Delay. Our customer communicates using Makaton and simple words and would like someone to support her independence by working towards her goals and aspirations.

As a Support Worker, you will participate in activities such as walks and swimming with our customer and support her at local day services. You will also continue to support her personal care needs, which require a female-only support worker. This is a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act.

The working hours for this role are 5 days a week, between 10am and 5pm. However, there may be opportunities to work with other customers outside of these hours if you are available. Our in-house training team will provide you with the necessary skills to deliver the role confidently.

Avalon Group (Social Care) is an adult social care charity promoting independence and choice in everyday lives. We need enthusiastic individuals who can use their existing skills to help others.

Benefits of working with us include a competitive hourly rate of £11.50, with enhancements for weekends and Bank Holidays. We also pay for travel expenses between consecutive sessions of support and cover the cost of your Enhanced Disclosure and Barring (DBS) Certificate.

As an Avalon employee, you will have access to discounts on gym memberships and at high street retailers, as well as an employee assistance scheme providing 24/7 advice and guidance. We are an award-winning charity offering paid training and career development opportunities.
