Senior Technical Scientist

The HR Booth is pleased to be partnering with Diffusion Alloys to recruit a Senior Technical Scientist to drive the research and development of diffusion coatings for clean technology applications.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading research into the use of diffusion coatings to provide coating solutions for new and emerging clean technology applications. This will involve:

  • Continuously reviewing and summarizing academic and market relevant developments on target market degradation issues and potential solutions
  • Evaluating competing coatings and advancements in alloys that compete with coating solutions
  • Executing coating development programs
  • Driving forward coating validation and characterization projects on both existing coatings and those developed through research and development
  • Working with the Technical Director to ensure the commercial team has clear and concise case studies to present to the market on the benefits of diffusion coatings to different clean technologies
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in the development and evaluation of coating processes and be willing to be hands-on in the practical aspects of coating development. They will also have a strong technical background with at least a BSc degree in metallurgy, materials science, chemistry, or process engineering, and academic, research, or industrial experience in coating technologies.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Good attention to detail, time management, and project management skills
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office
  • A full UK driving license
