Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist with excellent troubleshooting skills and great attention to detail to join our IT support team at Nine Twenty Recruitment.

This role requires in-depth knowledge of IT systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to client support requests through our IT service management tools.
  • Provide expert-level support to resolve complex IT issues escalated from 1st and 2nd line support teams.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-connectivity related problems.
  • Install and upgrade operating systems.
  • Administer and maintain servers, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of server operating systems.
  • Manage and optimize virtualization environments.
  • Implement and manage active directory, group policies, and other directory services.
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network infrastructure components.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Implement and manage security protocols and measures to safeguard the network.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience of working as a systems administrator, technical support specialist, or a related role.
  • Proven expertise in Windows server environments.
  • Experience with Linux distributions, including RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux, and Ubuntu.
  • Patch management systems, such as Spacewalk and Satellite.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, security principles, and best practices.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware and Hyper-V.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • HND or degree-level qualification in computer networking or a related field.
  • Certifications, such as MCSE, CCNA, or equivalent.
  • Linux certifications, such as RHCE, LPIC-1, or LPIC-2.
  • The ability to challenge current processes to drive continual improvement.
