The Global Energy Group is a leading service-focused business offering construction, maintenance, and enhancement solutions to the energy industry.

As a Systems Engineer with our team, you will play a key role in implementing change throughout the Group, building, maintaining, and securing Group IT systems, while providing expertise to the Service Desk.

This role requires strong collaboration with other Infrastructure staff to facilitate knowledge sharing, working closely with the Service Desk to ensure customer needs are met, and supporting the delivery of the infrastructure strategic roadmap.

Main Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with Infrastructure staff to share knowledge and best practices.
Provide technical support to the Service Desk to ensure timely issue resolution.
Contribute to the development and implementation of the Group's IT strategy.
Respond to major incidents prioritizing swift resolution alongside strategic projects.
Offer escalation support to the Service Desk as part of a rotational schedule.
Ensure all work is documented and logged using the designated ticketing system.
In case of requirement, escalate requests to the Infrastructure Manager for resolution.
Perform other tasks assigned by the Infrastructure Manager.

Key Skills and Qualifications

Office 365 Administration and related PowerShell skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft AD Domains and Group Policy configurations.
Experience in managing and monitoring various infrastructure systems.
Ability to implement Cyber Essentials-related tasks.
Knowledge of IT security best practices.
Microsoft certifications are advantageous.
Valid Driver's license.

Competencies and Personal Qualities

Ability to manage individual projects effectively.
A willingness to learn new applications and systems quickly.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Systems to provide adequate Service Desk support.
Effective time management skills when working on multiple assignments, with clear guidance on priorities.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
Capacity to handle interruptions and shifting priorities, maintain focus on tasks, pay attention to details, and produce accurate work.
Commitment to ongoing learning and self-improvement, aiming to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies.

Salary: Approximately £35,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. The location for this role is primarily Inverness, Aberdeen, or Grangemouth.
