About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Regulatory Compliance Specialist in the Department for Business and Trade.

As a key member of our Heat Networks team, you will play a critical role in driving compliance with regulatory requirements and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of heat networks across the country.

Working closely with stakeholders, including the Department for Energy and Net Zero, OFGEM, and internal teams, you will develop and execute strategies to achieve our regulatory goals and protect consumers.

You will lead a team of enforcement officers and technical experts, responsible for creating and implementing operational plans, including financial management and performance reporting.

Additionally, you will contribute to the development of robust technical standards and regulations to support the transition to net zero and ensure accurate heat metering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement regulatory strategies to drive compliance with heat networks sector requirements
  • Lead a team of enforcement officers and technical experts to achieve regulatory goals
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement technical standards and regulations
  • Provide expert guidance to support industry improvement and compliance
  • Contribute to the development of operational plans, including financial management and performance reporting
Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a degree or equivalent in an engineering or related subject.

You will possess strong analytical abilities, a strategic mindset, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience in delivering technical regulations, operational projects, or similar in the utilities sector is essential.

You will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and delivering results under pressure.
