Job Description

Highview Power is a pioneering energy technology company that designs, develops, and operates long-duration energy storage solutions using liquid air as the storage medium.

Our proprietary cryogenic technology has been recognized as a crucial component in making Renewable Green Energy sources more resilient, reliable, and cost-effective compared to traditional carbon alternatives.

As a member of our small but diverse team of approximately 60 people, you will be part of a global organization led by a team of experienced and seasoned executives with a proven track record of success across various markets.

We have recently completed the capital raise for our first utility-scale project at Carrington, near Manchester, and are currently developing a portfolio of projects in the UK, Ireland, and Australia, with plans for expansion to other countries in the near future.

The UK market is particularly well-suited for long-duration energy storage, with strong government support for this technology. Our main focus is to develop a UK portfolio of projects that can be delivered by 2030 under the expected cap and floor regime, helping to achieve the UK's clean power ambitions by 2030.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead business case modeling activities for our projects from concept to investment decision.
  • Work closely with the Business Development Director, power systems team, and trading team to evaluate revenue modeling and extract maximum value from our core LDES technology and other storage and flexible generation technologies.
  • Monitor policy, energy market, and competitor developments to evaluate and manage risks and opportunities for our current and future portfolio of projects.
  • Prepare presentations and materials for decision-makers relating to strategy, business development, investment decisions, and collaborate with other teams.
  • Act as a coordinator and have extensive exposure to Commercial leaders from day one.
Requirements
  • Degree-level education in a numerical subject, ideally with a relevant financial/economic postgraduate qualification.
  • Significant experience in modeling renewable energy or storage investment projects with project finance and associated revenues and non-energy costs.
  • Knowledge of energy markets, ideally with thermal, storage, or renewables assets, to advise on technology, market, and regulatory risks and opportunities.
  • Analytical skills to robustly filter and analyze market data to support revenue forecasts.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting investment case materials to an investment committee or senior management.
  • Experience in training and coaching junior analysts.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, well-organized, excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively and independently.
