Job Description

A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced lawyer to join Montgomery Advisory\u2019s highly regarded Project Finance team based in London.

The Team

The team operates at the forefront of the energy and infrastructure sectors, providing comprehensive legal support throughout the entire lifecycle of financing transactions. Their expertise spans from the negotiation of initial term sheets and lender Requests for Proposals (RfPs), through to financial close and post-financial close advisory services.

Their expertise covers a broad range of high-value transactions, including the development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects, refinancing, mergers and acquisitions, as well as advisory work on energy efficiency and low carbon initiatives.

The Role

Clients include UK and international banks, renewable energy developers, oil and gas companies, infrastructure funds, private equity, and utilities.

The work is increasingly international, involving collaboration with colleagues across global offices to support clients entering foreign markets. This transactional role offers substantial client interaction and the opportunity to focus on a strategic, rapidly evolving industry sector.

Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a market-leading Structured and Project Finance team with 6+ PQE.

The successful applicant should have:

  • Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills are essential.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships in a dynamic and agile environment
  • Solid organisational and project management skills
  • A proven ability to manage complex transactions, particularly within structured and project finance
  • A focus on delivering high-quality service and building strong client relationships
  • Experience handling multi-jurisdictional matters and cross-border transactions
  • Experience working with development financial institutions, export credit agencies, or other relevant industry bodies is advantageous

Candidates MUST be a qualified solicitor, ideally qualified in England & Wales or in a Commonwealth jurisdiction.
