About this role

The Commissioning Lead - Older People will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of adult social care in Barking and Dagenham. This exciting opportunity requires a dynamic and solutions-focused individual to lead the commissioning of care and support services for older adults.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead the commissioning of homecare and reablement services, ensuring value for money and a fair cost of care.
  • Develop and manage relationships with providers of care and support services, ensuring effective delivery of commissioned care.
  • Work closely with health partners, including NEL ICB and the Barking place-based partnership, to ensure integrated working and effective commissioning.
  • Support current initiatives around carers and work with providers to ensure a fair cost of care and value for money for the Council.
  • Provide assurance on the delivery of commissioned care to senior managers and partners, including Cabinet members.
