Job Title: Senior Practitioner

Job Type: Temporary

We are seeking a Senior Practitioner to join the Children with Disabilities Review Team in the Birmingham area. The successful candidate will provide a lead role in improving the quality of professional social work practice across the case work cycle.

Purpose of Role

  • To provide a needs-led, professional social work service to children, young people and their families, complying with legislative requirements and in accordance with established best practice.
  • To undertake complex casework arising within the children and families service.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To provide a professional social work service to children, young people and their families, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and best practice.
  • To provide technical/professional expertise to less experienced social workers.
  • To share/communicate a thorough working knowledge of relevant legislation, national standards, guidance, research, departmental policy and procedures.
  • To provide quality assurance and coaching/mentoring to work colleagues.

Education and Formal Training

A recognised social work qualification approved by the regulatory body and registration with the General Social Care Council (GSCC) / HCPC are essential.

Special Conditions

A Disclosure and Barring Services/ISA checks will be undertaken for the successful candidate.
