Job Title: Autism Education Support Professional

About the Position

This is an excellent opportunity to work as an Autism Education Support Professional in a Primary School in Enfield. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the care, development, learning, and well-being of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

You will work closely with the class teacher and the school's SENCO to ensure that each child receives the support they need to thrive. This role involves working both one-on-one and with small groups of key children to help them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility for the care, development, learning, and well-being of children alongside the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to identified children with ASD, tailoring your approach to meet their individual needs.
  • Make a positive impact on the lives of children with diverse learning needs.
  • Assist the class teacher with planning and delivery of activities.
  • Support the development of children's language and communication skills.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and provide pastoral support to children when required.
  • Provide feedback to parents and carers on children's progress and achievements.
  • Supervise and support pupils during lunch and playtimes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have previous experience working as a SEND Learning Support Assistant in a Primary School. You should also have a genuine passion for working with children with ASD and supporting their development.

A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to supporting children with diverse learning needs is essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team are also crucial.
