Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is a leading provider of healthcare services, delivering high-quality care to over one million people across London. We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our Information Governance and Assurance team.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and expert advice on Information Governance and Assurance, ensuring the Trust meets its statutory and legal obligations. This role will involve developing and implementing comprehensive information governance strategies, policies, and procedures, as well as providing guidance and support to senior management teams.
Main Responsibilities- Lead the development of the Trust's Information Governance Agenda, ensuring alignment with changing care pathways and commissioning structures within the NHS.
- Ensure the Trust's systems and information collection processes are aligned to the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (CAF), ISO 27001/2, and compliant with the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Provide expert advice on Data Protection and Information Assurance, coordinating the agenda setting and draft papers for the Trust's Information Governance and Security Steering Group (IGSSG).
- Attend local, regional, and national information governance meetings, reporting back on relevant developments and issues to the wider team.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree or equivalent, IT Security qualification, and Prince2 or equivalent project management experience. Substantial experience in Information Governance or a related field at a senior level is essential, as is practical implementation of GDPR/DPA and Information Governance Assurance.
Desirable criteria include CISSP, ITIL Foundation, and Registration Authority experience.
