Role Overview

As a member of the Trócaire Northern Ireland Board, you will play a crucial role in shaping the organisation's strategy and ensuring its compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

The estimated salary for this position is £20,000 - £25,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About Trócaire

Trócaire is an International Non-Governmental Organisation (INGO) established by the Irish Catholic Bishops conference in 1973.

We work with local partners in over 15 countries to tackle the underlying causes of poverty and injustice.

We are rooted in social justice and our mandate includes global citizenship education, campaigning and achieving structural change through policy and advocacy work from Ireland.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction as required, ensuring plans are aligned and integrated with the organisational strategies, and monitoring performance.
  • Review the financial performance of Trócaire Northern Ireland with reference to the Trócaire Northern Ireland budget.
  • Ensure Trócaire (Northern Ireland) complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • A background in charity/non-profit governance or regulation in N. Ireland.
  • A working knowledge of N. Irish charity and company law or compliance, or legal frameworks in similar jurisdictions and a willingness to learn more about N. Irish charity law.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills.
  • A strong understanding of and commitment to global social justice.
  • Experience in organisational Risk Management.
