Senior Care Assistant (Dayshift) - Darcy House Care Home

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistant to lead our care team at Darcy House Care Home. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring our residents receive the highest standard of care and creating a warm, supportive environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and coordinating the care team to ensure the smooth running of the home
  • Assisting residents with daily living tasks, such as dressing, bathing, and toileting, while prioritizing their dignity and independence
  • Overseeing the ordering, administration, and documentation of medication, maintaining accurate records
  • Effective communication with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members to ensure clear and compassionate communication
  • Fostering a team ethos, respecting diversity, and promoting a supportive environment for all staff
  • Welcoming visitors and showing prospective residents and families around the home's facilities
  • Responding promptly to emergency call bells, assessing situations, and providing or calling for assistance as needed
  • Writing and updating care plans, risk assessments, and case notes to reflect residents' needs and wishes
  • Participating in staff meetings, training, and e-learning to take responsibility for your own growth and development
  • Aware of and adhering to Health and Safety policies, including COSHH, and escalating concerns to management

Requirements:

  • SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care is essential. We also welcome applications from experienced Care Assistants actively working towards their Level 3.
  • Practical Medication Administration with competencies is required.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team, delegating tasks effectively while maintaining a supportive environment.
  • A kind, caring, and compassionate personality with a sense of fun and a commitment to person-centred care.
