Job Overview:
We are seeking a qualified, part-qualified or QBE Practice Accountant to join our Bedford office. This role is essential in managing client accounts, ensuring timely and accurate accounts preparation, and delivering high-quality service as our client base continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients, including individuals, limited companies, and OMBs.
- Manage personal tax returns and provide expert advice during client consultations.
- Handle bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, and transactional accounting for various clients.
- Oversee and manage workload distribution between Bedford, Huntingdon, and our team in India.
- Support and mentor junior staff, including skilled apprentices and generalist bookkeepers.
- Conduct new client consultations.
- Contribute to the firm's strategic growth, particularly in expanding their limited company client base.
Requirements:
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, AAT, or equivalent), or qualified by experience (QBE).
- Recent UK practice experience, with strong skills in accounts preparation and personal tax.
- Experience in bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, and transactional accounting.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple clients and deadlines.
- Proactive, team-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
