About This Position

South Gloucestershire Council seeks a highly skilled Senior Practitioner to drive improvements in adult care and support services, ensuring the highest possible standards are maintained. As a key member of the Adult Social Care team, you will be instrumental in identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance service delivery.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • You will lead the way in Organisational Safeguarding enquiries, building robust relationships with service providers to guarantee seamless service delivery.
  • Under the guidance of a Team Manager, you will document and analyze Organisational Safeguarding data, offering insightful recommendations and engaging in crucial discussions.
  • You will foster close working relationships with Social Work or Occupational Therapy staff, and other stakeholders, to address safeguarding concerns, social care assessments, support plans, and decision-making processes.
  • In designated instances, you may need to serve as a deputy to the Team Manager, chairing safeguarding strategy and review meetings or attending meetings with other agencies.
  • You will cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with key agencies, including the CCG and CQC, to deliver exceptional outcomes for service users.
  • Collaboratively, you will help develop and implement comprehensive multi-agency policies and procedures.
  • As an accomplished practitioner, you will remain at the forefront of legislative developments and best practices in social care, often mentoring newer staff members.

Your Background and Skills

  • A relevant professional qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, CSS, OT Diploma) and HCPC registration.
  • A substantial background in social care, including experience handling intricate cases.
  • Evidenced ability to engage in continuous professional development, possess deep understanding of current laws and practices in social care, and demonstrate skill in assessing and managing risk.
  • Proven ability to allocate and prioritize tasks effectively, leveraging team expertise to optimize service efficiency and user satisfaction.
  • Skill in supervising casework.
  • Ownership of a reliable vehicle or alternative transportation arrangements.

An enhanced DBS check is a requirement for this position due to its sensitive nature.

We anticipate the salary for this role to range between £45,000 and £60,000 annually, taking into consideration factors such as location and experience.
