Building Control Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Control Surveyor to join our team at Thorn Baker Construction. As a Building Control Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that buildings are designed and constructed in compliance with relevant building regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess plans and designs for compliance with building regulations and standards
- Conduct site visits to inspect building works and ensure compliance with regulations
- Provide advice to construction professionals, building owners, and members of the public on building control matters
- Act as lead officer on complex projects and represent the company in a multi-disciplinary team
- Inspect reported dangerous structures and ensure appropriate action is taken
- Conduct investigations into unauthorized building work and take enforcement action as necessary
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Building Surveying or equivalent qualification
- Experience in building control inspection, general building surveying, design, project management, or other similar specialist services
- Knowledge of current building control legislation, associated guidance, and issues relevant to the post
- Ability to administer all forms and levels of building regulation applications
- Knowledge and understanding of operating building control software systems
