**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled Building Control Specialist to join our team at Thorn Baker Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for enforcing the Building Regulations and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessing plans for compliance with the Building Regulations
- Undertaking site visits to inspect building works under construction
- Providing advice to construction professionals, building owners, and members of the public
- Acting as lead officer on complex projects and representing the company as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Inspecting reported dangerous structures and ensuring appropriate action is undertaken
Requirements:
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Building Surveying or equivalent qualification
- Experience in building control inspection, general building surveying, design, project management, or other similar specialist services
- Knowledge of current building control legislation, associated guidance, and issues relevant to the post
