Town Planner Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Town Planner to join our team at TDM Recruitment. As a Town Planner, you will play a crucial role in managing planning activities related to land purchase, ensuring that appropriate planning consents are obtained cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the planning function's management team to achieve company targets and ensure best practices are followed.
  • Undertake planning appraisals of potential development sites, identifying risks and making recommendations on the prospects of achieving planning permission.
  • Prepare and manage applications and planning appeals for residential and mixed-use developments.
  • Engage in negotiations with officers, local community groups, and other stakeholders at various stages.
  • Monitor and advise on changes in planning policy, legislation, and regulation.
Requirements:
  • At least 3-4 years' land acquisition experience (commercial or residential).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence to communicate and negotiate effectively.
  • Effective self-management to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Experience of building strong relationships, networking, and promoting a business.
  • Ability to travel to meetings in remote or rural locations.
