About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Medical Communications Director to join our team at Adelphi In Healthcare Communications - Excerpta Medica EU IMC. As a key member of our medical communications team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of high-quality, innovative medical communication and education programs for our pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for medical communications and education programs
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality projects and programs
  • Drive organic growth of assigned client accounts through identifying and acting on opportunities for new business
  • Ensure consistent high-quality delivery of programs
  • Develop innovative products and services within assigned accounts and share experience with colleagues
  • Line manage and mentor staff, supporting their growth in the business
  • Provide a stimulating learning environment for line reports and account team members
  • Take a lead role in internal proposal and pitch development
  • Financial reporting and forecasting for assigned accounts, and achievement of financial goals

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and people development skills
  • Proven consultancy skills and ability to develop strong, novel strategic plans
  • Proven experience in leading strategic medical communications and education accounts
  • A strong interest in communication and/or education best practices
  • Publication planning experience is a plus
  • Experience working with Pharma Medical Affairs and/or Marketing groups is a strong plus
  • Experience in leading matrix teams
  • Strong, confident communication skills
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
