About the Role
Are you a skilled legal professional looking to make a meaningful impact on public sector housing? As a Housing Solicitor with Luton Borough Council, you'll be part of our dedicated team working towards our ambitious Luton 2040 Vision – that no-one in Luton will have to live in poverty.
We're seeking an experienced solicitor with at least 1 year PQE as an Admitted Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEX. You should have experience in civil and/or criminal litigation, confidently appearing in County and/or Magistrates' Courts. Your understanding of Housing Law, Civil Procedure Rules, GDPR, and Local Government Law is essential, allowing you to apply your knowledge to real-world cases with minimal supervision.
As a Housing Solicitor, you'll represent the Council in court, presenting housing law cases and managing resources to provide a high-quality service. You'll also have the opportunity to draft various legal documents, ensuring they meet the highest standards. Your role will involve working autonomously on your caseload, but with the support of the Senior Solicitor Housing when needed.
